Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
This page explains what information Noozly ("we", "us", "the site") collects when you visit, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep things as simple as possible.
What we collect
- Basic request logs. Like most websites, our infrastructure (Cloudflare) records standard request metadata such as IP address, user agent, and the URL you requested. This helps us detect abuse and diagnose problems.
- A theme preference cookie. When you
switch between our Modern and Retro themes, we store your choice in a cookie named
themeso the site remembers it on your next visit. No personal data is in this cookie. - Admin session cookies. If you are a Noozly staff member, we set a session cookie when you log in to the admin panel. This cookie is HttpOnly and used only for authenticating staff; regular readers will never have one.
Cookies
We use a single preference cookie for the theme toggle (1-year expiry, no personal data) and, for staff, a session cookie for admin login. We do not currently run any third-party analytics or tracking cookies.
Third-party services we use or may use
- Cloudflare serves our pages and caches our content globally. Cloudflare sees standard request data (see "Basic request logs" above) as part of providing CDN and security services.
- Google AdSense (planned). Once we enable advertising, Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve personalized ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. For more information and opt-out options, see Google's How Google uses information from sites that use our services page and your Ad Settings. Until AdSense is enabled, no ad-tech code is loaded on Noozly.
Data retention
Basic request logs are retained for a short operational window and then discarded. Articles published on Noozly are public content and are kept online indefinitely unless we remove or update them editorially.
Children's privacy
Noozly is a general-interest news site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Your rights and contact
You can ask us what data we hold about you, request deletion, or raise any privacy question by emailing contact@siikk.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we handle data — for example, when we turn on AdSense — we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
